Shot 1- pre-edited.
in this shot we wanted to try and get the essence of one of Worcesters coffee shops as they're an attraction to the younger generation - a place where they can "hang out" and converse. as this was a test shot we thought we would use a smaller location than our main plan which is a burger shop/restaurant as this would be much more appealing to the 18-30 age range.
In the edited shot (on the right) we want to try and make a much warmer environment to show that these locations are inviting to the target audience. The warm tones make for a much clearer photo enhancing the main focus of the photograph. The main image, that of the female, is part of a larger story as we follow her around looking at the best parts of Worcester that youth would take a part in.
For these shots we wanted to capture the essence of the hive, a place of learning and study a Worcester, again very much looking at the insight of what grasps the attention of our target audience, a large proportion of that being students therefore we wanted out shots to show what Worcester has to offer the students and public at the same time. Again we chose to aim it all around the one individual as she explores Worcester.
For the edit, we wanted to again give the shot a much brighter feel and warm environment to invite students to come and study and research in the hive as it is the biggest resource for study for people aged 18-30 and more. We decided to highlight the colour to make them more appealing instead of lower dull colours. the brighter greens are a lot more invitational and with the added warm haze it makes the photo change from its colder state to something much nicer to look at. this also changes the tones and mood set out for out main person in the image making what she is doing seem much more interesting than in the left hand photo.
This second shot in the hive was an alternate to the first ones that we had taken. This one was where we wanted to add some more people into the shot to show that while exploring Worcester there are multiple things to do whilst with other people. It's a place where you can explore with your friends/family, you can study together in nice areas.
In the left shot we wanted to just get a feel of where we want to take our photo and what the area will be like, what angles and if we can replicate any shadows that were effective in out practice shot.
in the right side shot, much like the other photos, we wanted to make the shot much brighter as there were some dark patches which didn't look appealing to the target audience as it hid our subject in the shot. We want the audience to see as much of the surroundings as possible and the facial expressions of our main subject to show that she is enjoying the surroundings that are in Worcester.
our next sequence of shots were of the Worcester town, one of the bigger attractions of the city as its filled with lots of shops that appeal to the age range with the likes of gaming shops, lots of clothes shops and high branded restraunts for them to be with their friends on days out. there are also lots of entertainment centres for the age range from cinemas to sporting events like the Worcester wolves team.
In the editing task, we explored how to make the day seem much more exciting and vibrant. The main person in the shot is meant to be holding shopping bags to show what there is to do in Worcester. Lots of shopping. We would also have her with a group of friends, again to show that in Worcester there are lots of things to do with friends and family.
This shot would be to represent the high life of Worcester town trying to get a bigger look at the busy streets of Worcester, that shopping is one of the biggest high lights of Worcester as there are so many places to buy especially in the lead up to Christmas. This shot would be again with a group of friends all enjoying themselves.
The warmer shots are there to represent the life style of the people who live in Worcester. Its a place where people can enjoy the shopping life and have fun while doing it, a challenge to the stereotype of shopping being stressful and manic.
